The Tego Connector is the only closed catheter system available today specifically designed for hemodialysis catheters. The Tego Connector creates a mechanically and microbiologically closed system when attached to the hub of a catheter. It will prevent the ingress of micro-organisms by maintaining a seal while attaching or removing blood lines, flush syringes and when it is not being accessed at all. Simply disinfect the Tego closed catheter system by swabbing before each access and the sterility of the fluid path will NOT be compromised!
Like the Clave, the Tego is a microbiologically and mechanically closed system with an ultra small and comfortable design, zero deadspace, and an exceptional flow rate. The Tego, however, was uniquely designed as a closed catheter system for hemodialysis catheters, and as an added benefit offers the first available non-abrasive exterior. |

Microbiologically and Mechanically Closed Catheter System
By use of the microbiologically closed Tego Connector, health care workers can reduce the risk of CRBSI resulting from repeat exposure, or 'opening' and manipulation of the catheter hub. The Tego has been validated for 7-day use (read this study).
Infinite Amount of Positive Pressure
The Tego closed catheter system provides an automatic positive displacement of fluid at the end of each catheter flush. This positive pressure prevents the reflux of blood into the catheter lumen, which may lead to thrombotic occlusion.
Flow Rates Greater than 600mL/min
The Tego closed catheter system remains in place during the hemodialysis treatment. it permits flow rates through an unobstructed fluid path of greater than 600mL/min (read this study).
